Discord Invisible Name Not Working? Here's the Fix

Updated Feb 2026 • 2 min read

You tried to set your Discord nickname to a blank space, but it says "Invalid Name" or just resets? You're not alone. Discord often patches common empty characters.

The Problem: Regular Spaces Don't Work

Discord trims standard whitespace. If you just hit the spacebar, it won't save.

The Solution: Hangul Filler (U+3164)

The only reliable character that works in 2026 is the Hangul Filler. It's a special character from the Korean alphabet that displays as nothing but is treated as a "letter" by code.

Need the character right now?

Go to Copy Tool →

How to Apply It

  1. Go to our Home Page and click the giant copy button.
  2. Open Discord.
  3. Right-click your name in a server -> "Edit Server Profile".
  4. Paste (Cmd+V / Ctrl+V) into the Nickname field.
  5. Hit Save.

If it still doesn't work, the server admin might have a bot that auto-rejects special characters. In that case, try adding a tiny dot `.` after the invisible space.
